BIG RAPIDS, Mich. - Ethan Erickson set a school record with 11 3-pointers for Ferris State University on Saturday.

The junior scored a career-high 36 points in a 111-44 win over Kuyper College at Ferris State’s Wink Arena.

“I think it's really cool knowing how many great players came before me,” Erickson said. “I could not have done it though without my point guards getting me the ball when I was open and also all the bigs setting screens for me.”

Erickson, who graduated from Grand Rapids Forest Hills Northern High School, was 11-of-23 shooting from long range for Ferris State. His career best in high school was 10.

Erickson's 11 three's broke the school record of nine previously set by Leon Larthridge in 1991 against Quincy and matched by Cole Walker versus Wayne State in 2018-19.

Erickson, who has not started a game this season, is averaging 13.8 points per game and has 48 3-pointers this season. He had 112 last season.
