East Kentwood star back on the market, decommits from Howard
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. - Christian Humphrey-Rembert is back on the market.
The East Kentwood High School senior announced on Monday that he is decommitting from Howard University and is reopening his recruitment.
“With Howard using the transfer portal more for recruiting, it takes away my expectations of playing as a freshmen,” Humphrey-Rembert said.
The 6-foot-9 forward is averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds for the 2-2 Falcons this season.
He had 15 college offers before committing to Howard on Dec. 3, 2023.
Humphrey-Rembert had narrowed his final four schools this summer to Brown, Harvard, Howard and Central Arkansas. Are those schools still on the table?
“Central Arkansas and Brown yes,” he said. “Central Arkansas is on board and I’m still figuring out my relationship with Brown.”
But he is open to other schools as well.
“I am reopening all my options,” he said. “I wanted a chance to play as a freshmen.”
Other Division I schools who had offered Humphrey-Rembert were: Cal Poly, California, Oakland, Princeton, Indiana State, Southern Indiana, UC Santa Barbara, Stony Brook, Southern Utah, Maine, New Jersey Institute of Technology, Saint Louis and Western Michigan.
